Lámh Signs Story Competition for Schools and Groups
Lámh and Down Syndrome Ireland are creating an App for young children who use Lámh signs. We would like you to write a funny, adventurous or magical story using our word lists, which have some words included that are also Lámh signs. This will help the children who are using Lámh signs to learn signs and most importantly to have fun while learning. We will film the national winning story for the App. Everyone who enters a story will get a certificate, and winners will be invited to Dublin for a presentation.
This is your chance to write a story which will be heard by hundreds of children! The overall winner will receive a book voucher for €100.00, while runners up will get book vouchers for €50.00.
Competition details: Entries should be submitted to Down Syndrome Ireland though a registered group. (See below). Groups can register and download a pack including detailed instructions and certificates for local participants by filling out the form below.
Groups: Schools, Scout groups and Libraries who wish to support entrants should register with Down Syndrome Ireland before September 30, 2014. The best 3 stories in each group should be sent to DSI for entry into the national final. The closing date for entries to be submitted to DSI is October 27, 2014.
Winners: The national winners will be selected by representatives of Lámh and DSI. The judges decisions are final. The winning stories become the property of Lámh and DSI. Winners will receive book vouchers, certificates and a copy of the app including their story when it is produced.
